About You:

History: Nidalee was a very blessed child when she was born; her parents were as loving and affectionate as could be. She never had reason to cry, or to be sad. Her life was great: surrounded by people who loved her, and who wanted nothing more than to teach her how to be the best that she could be.

However, it wasn't to last. Nidalee loved to play outside, to run through the forest, and swim in the many ponds, rivers, and lakes that dotted the land. On one of these trips to go play, around the time she was three years old, she never returned. Her parents searched, as did their friends. Everyone they could reach out to to help; but she wasn't to be found. Her parents waited agonizing days, hoping that there would be some sort of letter, some sort of demand. Or that perhaps, she would just wander back in, lost and confused, but otherwise fine. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, but she never returned. Eventually the waiting got to her parents: they needed to find her, the loss was agonizing and painful, and sitting around and doing nothing but hoping wasn't making things better, and so they left - never to be heard from again, and with no trace left behind of where exactly they had been heading, or what happened to them.

Meanwhile, Nidalee was renamed Niala by those who had kidnapped her. They were under the belief that she could teach them the strange bouts of magic that they had caught her using on many occasions. However, she was sad - she had never known a time in her short young life where her parents and friends weren't around her: but now she had no one. There were no hugs, kisses, cuddles, and so she began to shut down emotionally. It was easier not to feel at all then to constantly feel sad. It was her minds own way of saving itself; something she would realize much later.

The captures tried for weeks to get through to her; they tried bribing her with toys and sweets, then they tried giving her a choice - food if she helped, or no food if she refused, when that didn't work and she simply had begun to allow herself to starve they started threatening her with bodily harm. Still nothing worked, she just couldn't be broken. No matter what they did to her, no matter what they tried, nothing would work, nothing would get her to speak to them, let alone show them how they might be capable of what she was. Eventually, as the years progressed, they stopped trying, and simply left her alone.

Nidalee had taken to just sitting around, never making a sound or speaking, and barely moving: she had known meditation from a young age, and simply fell back into that to survive - though of course her kidnappers simply thought that they had broken her spirit, and thus it was safe to leave her alone. At first Nidalee didn't dare do what her mind screamed for her to, what every instinct in her being told her to do - to run, but after a while she began to plan. She began to save little bits of food and water, hiding them beneath the floorboards of the little cabin they stayed in, knowing she was going to need food to travel. Then the day came; they were going on a hunting trip and wouldn't be back until late that night. It was the perfect opportunity. She waited an hour after they left, worried that they might return for something they forgot, then she grabbed up the food and water she had stored away, and took off into the forest. She could still remember the general direction that she had come from, and so that was where she headed.

Nidalee ran for days, convinced that they were after her, that they would find her and when they did they would kill her. However, there was only so much running she could do, and soon she collapsed, too tired to go any further. She laid there sipping her water and eating small bits of food as she could. As she did so a panda cub stumbled across her that was covered in blood. It was clear that there was something strange about the panda, the way it didn't act skiddish towards her. The panda looked far too young to be on its own, and she could only assume that poachers had killed its mother, which would explain the blood. She offered the panda part of her food and water, and soon the small creature became trusting of her.

Nidalee moved on slowly from there after getting her strength back as much as she knew she was going to be able to, with the panda following after her. They became friends, relying on each other as they traveled. Nidalee had begun to let her guard down, feeling that she was safe since the kidnappers had yet to show up, but this was the wrong thing for her to do. Some of the kidnappers had been tracking her for some time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and as Nidalee fell asleep they attacked. She would have died had it not been for the sacrifice her panda companion had made - he attacked them fiercely, and though he died in the end, he took them with him.

Nidalee was saddened greatly, the beginning of her emotions unlocking an her being able to feel them again, and cried as she buried her panda friend. However, the separation from her new friend wasn't to last - that night as she dreamed the panda spoke to her, explaining it had simply been a spirit looking for an act if kindness in the world, and she had shown such an act, because of such she would be blessed with the ability to use the spirit panda's abilities and forms - granting her access to be able to change into a werepanda, and a normal panda - and explaining that her forms would grow with her as she aged.

With this knowledge inside of her she packed up and left the next morning, continuing the trek home, and hoping that some sort of good news, or answers waited for her when she arrived..
